Visiting Film and TV locations from Holiday Cottages Cornwall
We have long been fans of some of the Cornish based TV series and films recently Echo Beach which is filmed in and about Newquay rekindled our interest. We decided to take a holiday in Cornwall and visit some of the locations, choosing accommodation was not difficult, we decided on Holiday Cottages Cornwall as they have a great choice. How to decide where to stay, Cornwall is a big county so we wanted to be relatively central, we also wanted to be somewhere picturesque. The comedy Doc Martin had been filmed on location around Port Isaac so we thought we should take a holiday home near there.

How were we to find what we wanted? Well the Internet of course doing a search for, Port Isaac Holiday Cottages Cornwall, gave us a good choice and we were able to book just what we wanted. There was a restaurant nearby and a great view from our holiday home. Our trip down there last June was easy and the weather was great, we saw all that we had planned and more beside. Film locations; we saw St Michael’s Mount, Johnny English very funny film which started out as a few TV advertisements for Barclaycard, Bolventor, where all the exterior shots for Jamaica Inn were shot, we watched the DVD on our cottage’s DVD player the night before we visited. For TV we did see the Doc Martin locations. Whilst not a film location, we thought The Eden Project was the highlight of the trip.
